HANDS ON ENGLISH

This month Adrián and Juan (5º B) bring you some idiomatic expresions in English and the meaning of them:


- Once in a blue moon: De Pascuas a Ramos


- It's raining cats and dogs: Llueve a cántaros

- Two birds, one stone: Matar dos pájaros de un tiro.

- Be between a rock and a hard place. Entre la espada y la pared.

- You are pulling my leg: Me estás tomando el pelo.

- It rings a bell: Me suena.

- A bad writer blames his pen: un mal escritor culpa a su pluma.

- A chip off the old block: de tal palo tal astilla.

- A bird in the hand is worth two in the bus: Más vale pájaro en mano que ciento volando.

- Ad fuel to the fire: Echar leña al fuego.

- Against the clock: A contrareloj
